Bitmap Books, founded by graphic designer Sam Dyer, is an independent publisher of retro gaming books covering the early days of home computers and consoles. Each book, including Artcade, has an in‑depth history of the publishers, programmers and artists that were involved.
I was commissioned by Bitmap Books to bring together a collection of classic arcade game artwork, showcasing the marquees from the arcade machines that has been restored by Tim Nicholls. The book is a perfect-bound A4 landscape piece.
Going through the years in chronological order, you can see the artwork from Death Race in 1976 through to Alien vs. Predator in 1994. Included are interviews from Artist, Larry Day and the late Python Angelo.
